ULAB MSJ department’s CI Summer, 2019 ends

  The Curriculum Integration (CI) program of Summer 2019 semester of the Media Studies and Journalism Department (MSJ) at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) ended on September 9, 2019. The three-day event was dedicated to late journalist Muhammad Jahangir who also was an adjunct faculty of the department. The central theme of the event was the Social Norms Theory. Arnob Chakravarty, managing director of Red Orange Media and Communication, attended as chief guest at the event held at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capital. ULAB Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. H M Jahirul Haque, MSJ Department head Professor Dr. Jude William Genilo and other faculties were present on the occasion. Earlier, the event begun with performances of a drama named “Rashtrer Jobanbondi” (The Nation’s Testimony) by the students of a course titled ‘Media Presentation and Performance’. Later, students of ‘Public Speaking and Speech Writing’ course engaged in a debate on “Bangladeshi Journalists Present an Accurate Image of Bangladeshi Politics to the Society”. Mr Arnob Chakravarty and Dr. Jude handed over prizes and certificates to the winners of the apprenticeship programs like PR4U, Cinemascope, Shutterbugs, Radio Campbuzz, The Ulabian, ULAB Animation Studio and ULAB TV. The chief guest, Arnob Chakravarty, was also honored with a memento by the ULAB Vice Chancellor and MSJ department’s head. Various visual projects produced by students of MSJ department were screened. The students produced the productions as per requirement for their different courses. Speaking on the occasion, ULAB Vice Chancellor Jahirul Haque said, “Every year the students pull off outstanding works.”
