Chief Guest Tropa Majumder inaugurates the Visual Art Exhibition

 

  The Curriculum Integration Visual Art Exhibition of the Summer 2019 semester was inaugurated at Gallery 2 of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on September 7, 2019. The Department of Media Studies and Journalism of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) organized this exhibition with the works of students from the outcomes of various courses. The theme of the three-day exhibition was The Social Norms theory and was dedicated to the memory of prominent media personality and adjunct faculty of ULAB, Muhammad Jahangir who passes away recently. The exhibition was inaugurated by TropaMajumder, Director & Creative Head of the EXPRESSIONS Ltd. The exhibition continued till 5 pm on September 9. Several photos, posters, masks and other performances by the students of the department were exhibited. After inaugurating the show, TropaMajumder walked around the gallery and enjoyed the works of the students along with the faculty members of the department. In her speech she said, “Before coming here in this program, I had a stereotype idea about the students of the private universities. After seeing your artworks and performances I must say that my earlier idea about you has changed. You have changed it by your works”. ‘Along with theoretical discussion, practical learning helps students to a great extent in their professional life’- Tropa added. Tropa Majumder also praised the faculties and the standard of education of the MSJ pedartment.  Professor Jude William R. Genilo, the head of the department, thanked her for her presence on the occasion. He also handed a token of appreciation to the chief guest.
