Media Studies and Journalism (MSJ) department at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) hosted an alumni formation programme on January 17. Marking the farewell of students graduating in Fall '18, the event took place at Campus B Seminar Room in the evening. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Kazi Mahmudur Rahman, associate professor of MSJ, congratulated the graduating students on achieving the important milestone. Underscoring the importance of alumni, Dr Rahman said MSJ alumni can play a significant role for further development of their beloved department. "The department and the faculty members are always with you whenever you need them," said Dr Rahman. Then, faculty members spoke and motivated the outgoing students to bravely face the challenges of the professional world. Following that, the graduating students took an oath administered by Dr Rahman. In the oath, they pledged to work for the good of mankind. Then the grade was disseminated among the students who successfully defended their internship reports earlier in the day. In the meantime, the graduating students selected three representatives who will be responsible for future contact with the department. In addition, the soon to be ex-students wrote letters to their future selves and put those in a box. They can open the letters once they come back after a certain period of time. Last but not least, the outgoing students walked down the memory lane reminiscing their life at ULAB. PR4U, an apprenticeship programme of MSJ, organised the event hosted by its member Zareen Islam. Another member Fairuj Sultana lightened everyone’s mood with some melodious tunes. Snacks and beverages were served at the end of the event.
