DIMFF meet-up session held

With the Dhaka International Mobile Film Festival (DIMFF) approaching, Cinemascope, a film apprenticeship programme of Media Studies and Journalism (MSJ) department at ULAB, held a meet-up session at Campus B on November 3. Presidents of various clubs from different universities joined the session. DIMFF is the country’s first ever mobile film festival that was formerly known as Cinemascope Mobile Film Competition. Cinemascope, a film apprenticeship program of ULAB, is organizing the festival for the fifth time. Asif Uddin, festival director of DIMFF 2019, briefed the participants about DIMFF and showed interest in promoting DIMFF in collaboration with other universities. Later, Foysal Mahamood, festival coordinator of DIMFF, spoke. Then, promotional videos from previous years were shown in order to make the representatives of other universities familiar with the event. After this, representatives from clubs of different universities spoke. Shihab Noor Alam, president of Brac University Film Club, said all private universities should collaborate for an event like this. A representative of BUP Film Club also showed a keen interest in DIMFF and promised to participate in the next year. Bornali from Notre Dame University Drama Club said the idea of shooting movies with mobile phone was very innovative. Lastly, Asif Uddin mentioned important dates of upcoming workshops and seminars marking the DIMFF 2019.
