Dr. Sumon Rahman joined ULAB in 2013 as Associate Professor of Media Studies and Journalism. He has more than 20 years’ teaching experience in diverse disciplines, namely, Philosophy, South Asian Studies and Media Studies in different institutions of Bangladesh and Singapore. He has been promoted as the Professor of Media Studies and Journalism in 2017 and concurrently appointed as the Director of the Office of Faculty Research.
Apart from teaching at ULAB, Dr Rahman has been involved in diverse institutions of home and abroad in different capacities. He works as Curriculum Planner, Curriculum Reviewer, Thesis Reviewer, Ethical Review Committee member at The University of Queensland, Australia, Bangladesh University Grants Commission, Independent University Bangladesh (IUB), Bangabandhu Sheikh Muzib Medical University (BSMMU), BRAC University, and Bangladesh University for Professionals (BUP), etc. His publications are well-cited, by renowned scholars both locally and globally.
