The Department of Media Studies and Journalism (MSJ) at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) organized a program on opportunities and challenges of new media in the context of Bangladesh on July 11, 2019.

M. Sayem, head of operations and engineering of private television channel Masranga Television, delivered a lecture at the event titled “New Media Opportunities & Challenges” held at the auditorium of the university’s permanent campus in Ramchardrapur area of Mohammadpur in Dhaka.

Professor Jude William Genilo, head of MSJ department, gave welcome speech on the occasion.

In his lecture, Mr. Sayem discussed the evolution new media and its impact on traditional media outlets in Bangladesh context. He also deliberated some challenges that traditional media face today.

Later, he gave answers to various of questions of students of the department.

Mohammad Shazzad Hossain, assistant professor at the MSJ department, gave vote of thanks.

Professor Jude presented the guest with a gift.

MSJ department’s public relations-based apprenticeship program PR4U organized this event.
