Habib is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Media Studies and Journalism at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. He is responsible for teaching Strategic Public relations, Strategic Communication, Crisis Communication, Digital Sociology and Advocacy Campaign courses to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Habib obtained his PhD in Public Relations (PR) from Griffith University, Australia. The research was undertaken to explore the use of PR, communicative and media strategies in organizing campaigns on a social development issue of Bangladesh. His current research focus is much more interdisciplinary, which includes public relations, science communication, health communication, digital psychology, climate change issues, sustainability, and migration. By taking part in different academic conversations and forums, he also serves as a volunteer to promote issues related to science, technology and sustainability among the students of South Asia.
Habib also possesses industry experience through his involvement as a PR and communication expert in the private sector, with responsibilities for managing the image of organization, networking with stakeholders and maintaining overall internal and external communications. Since PR and communication management is influenced by organizational, economical and societal needs, Habib has keen interest in teaching and understanding the media and communicative environment, being changed through the interplay of emerging technological, economic and political trends.
